High-performance motorcycles require a high level of skill, but also a high level of maintenance. Super bikes and other high-power models can be extremely unforgiving if you treat them with subpar lubricants. These motors operate at incredibly high RPM, leaving very little room for error.
To address this, we’ve developed the Motul Factory Line of motor oils designed specifically to meet the needs of modern racing bikes. Our current Factory Line family of oils features Motul 300V 4-stroke motor oil, and Motul 800 oil designed for 2-stroke motors. Let’s take a closer look.

Motul Factory Line 800 and 300V – What’s The Difference?
This is one of the most common questions people have regarding our Factory Line. The answer is simple — Motul 800 represents a ready mix 2-stroke (2t) oil designed for use in 2-stroke engines. The 300V is designed for use in 4-stroke (4t) motors found in modern road racing and off-road bikes.
At the end of the day, both of these oils offer premium protection and performance. They are simply designed for different kinds of motorcycle engines.
Motul 300V
Much like the car version of the 300V, the Factory Line 300V is based on our latest ESTER Core® technology. The use of custom ester base oils has enabled us to formulate a blend that delivers better overall protection and a more durable oil film. Motul Factory Line 300V is naturally attracted to metal thanks to our proprietary technologies. As a result, there’s always a layer of oil coating all of your engine’s internals as well as your clutch/gearbox components in wet-clutch motorcycles.
We offer Motul 300V Factory Line in a variety of viscosity grades. More importantly, this oil comes in Road Racing and Off-Road configurations. These two variants are optimized for different operating conditions.
Motul 300V Road Racing

The Motul 300V Road Racing motor oil is the perfect choice for high-performance 4-stroke motorcycle engines that spend a considerable amount of time in the high RPM range.
We’ve adapted the Road Racing version of the Motul 300V to ensure complete protection of engine, gearbox, and clutch components at high temperatures and under high stresses. This is a full-fledged racing oil designed for track use where periods of sustained high RPM are normal. Road racing 300V comes in a range of viscosity option. Consult your bike’s manual before purchase.
Motul 300V Off-Road

Going off-road brings a whole different set of variables when it comes to lubrication. Bikes designed to go off-road rarely reach high speeds and are often operating under load at low to moderate RPMs.
The Off-road version of Motul 300V Factory Line is boosted to enhance performance as well as protection under such adverse conditions. This line of motor oils was thoroughly tested in the unforgiving deserts of Africa during numerous Paris-Dakar races. The Off-Road 300V will get you the performance and protection you need in both wet and dry environments. Motul Factory Off-Road 300V comes in a range of viscosity option. Consult your bike’s manual before purchase.
Motul 800 Road Racing

Much like the 300V oils in our offer, Motul 800 features our advanced ESTER Core® technology. We have taken the development of 2-stroke motor oils to a whole new level by bringing in esters in a way that greatly improves wear protection, lubrication, and overall engine performance.
The Road Racing version of Motul 800 is optimized for high revving motors that operate under extreme conditions often found on racetracks. Motul 800 Road Racing also features a unique dye that allows you to clearly see whether your fuel is already mixed or not.
Motul 800 Off-Road

The world of 2-stroke off-road motorcycles is a diverse one, ranging from motocross bikes to various quads, ATVs, and UTVs. Our Motul 800 Off-Road is a specially formulated ester-based motor oil that offers optimal protection under a wide range of operating conditions.
The protective properties of our ester formula keep engine wear at a minimum, especially when you’re applying throttle in short but frequent bursts.
Are Motul Factory Line Lubricants Suitable for Wet Clutch Systems?
Absolutely! Our 300V Factory Line lubricants are suitable for use in wet clutch systems. These oils have been subjected to various industry testing, including the JASO T903 test. The results exceeded all existing standards when it comes to clutch and gearbox lubrication.
You can rest assured that using Motul Factory Line lubricants in your motorcycle will improve the lifespan of all affected internal components.
I have a question that’s been in my head for years now: wich one of the 800 2T oils is “better”/offers more protection against wear in a 2 stroke engine?
I’ve used Motul 800 2T off road oil in Honda CR 250 but am intriqued of the “double ester” used in the Motul 800 2T road racing oil!
Thank you!
